Winter at Magna Bay Vacations brings its own magic when the snow falls!  The Shuswap and surrounding areas are a mecca for outdoor winter adventure, including cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and, of course, snowmobiling.  Ski resorts like SilverStar Mountain in Vernon and Sun Peaks Ski Resort in Kamloops offer fantastic variety and numerous runs for downhill and snowboarding, as well as other mountain activities, and are both within a comfortable 1-1/2 hour drive.  For cross country skiing, numerous locations like White Lake Cross Country or Crowfoot Mountain provide beautiful daytime and evening scenic trails.  At Larch Hills Cross Country, you can find over 140 kms of cross country trails with 42 kms groomed, and all within 30 minutes from downtown Salmon Arm.

  When it comes to a day on your sled, you'll find numerous world renowned snowmobile trails within minutes of our resort.  Crowfoot Mountain, only a few kilometers down the road from Magna Bay Vacations, covers 20 kms of riding area on groomed, ungroomed and alpine area trails.  At the mountain, you can rent snowmobiles or bring your own.  Fly Hills area, just 10 minutes from downtown Salmon Arm has over 200 kms of trails, with the majority of riding taking place at the 4500 ft elevation ensuring good snow conditions from mid November to March.  And the views from many locations on Fly Hills trails are breathtaking!  Other popular snowmobile areas are located just outside the town of Sicamous on Queest Mountain, and in the Hunters Range area outside the town of Enderby.  For additional locations and information, click here.
